OOTD: 80’s Chic

Any of you who know me, and have watched my fashion evolution over the years, you would all have known that I have been practically LIVING in a dress phase for the past 5 years. No kidding, I really wore a dress to pretty much any place I could get away with as it saved me the hassle of having to mix and match bottoms. However, of late, I have somehow learned to leave my lazy state, and have started loving my jeans once more. I think it may possibly be due to the fact that I lost about 8kg in the past year (yup, since I got married, I ballooned to the weight of a bag of rice.. well almost :P ), and being able to fit into my old pants again. So, as a result, I’ve been playing alot more with outfits that have allowed me to wear my denim once more! This ensemble, being one of them :) [expand title=”Continue reading”]

I have been a bit obsessed with the blue and white combination lately, as well as stripes. I’m not sure what it is about the colors, or the pattern, but they fit so well into the spring palette and feel, giving this really fresh and crisp vibe to an entire outfit. To say obsessed is a little bit of an understatement… everytime I tell myself, ok, that is the last striped top I will ever buy, I will surely walk past another striped design of some sort that makes me question my vow haha… how is it possible to come up with SO many variations of one pattern? Anyway, here is my latest take on this current fixation of mine… I have tried keeping it really clean, yet street, with a bit of an 80’s twist that’s been expressed with this gorgeous minimalistic cut blazer with slightly oversized shoulders. Paired with a really cute striped halterneck croptop from sportsgirl, some chic boots from Nine West, and this pretty little clutch bag from Valentino to give just a little sparkle and edge, it is a really versatile ensemble that you can carry from day to night. Yay to outfits you can wear all day and all night long right? No need to run home to change, or bring an extra bag of clothes for your evening events!

Look out for my next few outfits as they will have a more feminine feel to them, to match the other side of spring that is all things pretty, sweet, and fresh :)
